The core of our transformation as an evolving human race right now is explicated in the ways that the structures of our economic and political systems are shifting from individual structures of sovereign power to global systems of interdependent well-being. In other words, we are beginning to experience and recognize that something has profoundly changed in our collective human experience and we can never again attain personal well-being without asking ourselves what will enhance our collective well-being. It is the dawn of a new age where the consciousness that is moving through the intelligence of our evolving nature is impressing itself upon the collective in such a way that the reality that we are One Being is awakening within us as a whole.
As this shift is taking place in our external world it is also bringing about a shift in how consciousness itself is awakening in our inner process.
Around the turn of the millennium, every Monday evening for about 5 years I offered channeled teachings to a group of 15 - 25 deeply committed seekers who gathered in Bristol, Vermont. Ramakah, a spiritual master in the non-physical dimensions would use my body/mind and my voice to share wisdom teachings and transmit an energetic presence of profound love and connection that would move the participants into the experience of Oneness.
On New Year's eve, 1999 as the clock rolled over into 2000 he stated, "The pure tone of creation has now anchored itself within the earth. Those forms and structures that were created from within the consciousness of separation for the purpose of personal accumulation and power are going to begin to crumble. As we have come to recognize our capacity to know ourselves as unique forms we are now moving into a further development of our human potential in which, as discreet forms of consciousness, we can also recognize ourselves as One Being. As the old forms dissolve, a new consciousness of Unity will arise simultaneously which will bring the technology and means through which new forms based in Unity and the well-being of all will emerge directly behind the dissolving forms."
It was precisely during this time that the sustainability movement began to take root as it was becoming apparent to many, for the first time, that we could not continue to mindlessly impress our individual will upon the planet without dire consequences. It was also during this time that many people were looking to indigenous cultures for help with reconnecting with the experience of living in relationship with our earth body - our mother who provides everything that is needed to support us in living a physical life. What was really being called for was a return to the awareness of the subtle energy of our collective Self.
Ramakah also stated that the fear of letting go of the identification of being a separate self and the delusion that one could independently control reality would not go easily for many of us. Further, that everyone sitting in circles such as the one in which we were gathered would eventually be needed to help ground the fear that would arise as the transformation was happening and help awaken the emerging consciousness. There were humorous comments that Ramakah made - that if we thought we felt stressed and overly busy in 1999, we should enjoy it because what would be required of us in the times that we are living in now would make those years seem like a vacation.
During these same years, my colleague and spiritual companion Nina Miller and I began traveling to the Sacred Valley of Peru, bringing together groups of North and South Americans in conversation and healing. Our teachers and family there shared with us that the few remaining Q'ero elders, descendants of the Inka and pre-Inka civilizations were beginning to speak for the first time of the prophecies that they had carried in secret for over 500 years and our Quechua family generously shared some of these teachings with us. They began to share this wisdom around the world in the spirit of ' munay', that love and compassion would be the guiding force of these gatherings of people around our planet earth and through Pachamama, her living spirit. What we understood then and continue to experience now is that our deepest healing happens relationally. The prophecies described the coming together of the Eagle of the North and the Condor of the South. In this time, they said, our world would be turned right-side up again and harmony and order would be restored as chaos and conflict would come to an end.
This is the time that we find ourselves in now. Though we were only able to glimpse this emerging reality in 1999, it is now fully accessible to more and more of our people. There are many teachers who are helping people to realize and develop this aspect of the personal-unitive Self. This way of knowing is not about rejecting or giving up the individual experience. Rather, it's recognizing the individual experience within a much larger mutual reality in which our experience of the personal nature of the Self expands into a preciousness that no words can describe.
